Well, if there is someone that hasn’t heard of Thesaurus, that’s, in fact, a dictionary, but not an ordinary one. 😉 More like a list of single terms and their definitions in alphabetical order. But it also includes “clusters” of words with similar meanings grouped together. As a marketer, it’s especially important to me to be able to discover new and fresh words that maybe I haven’t heard or used before.

Okay, let’s take a little break from prospecting and emails. 😪 Let’s see what else Chrome has to offer. Do you know what a great way to stay motivated and organised is? The ‘Science’ Behind Sweet Leads
If you are an outreach professional, you are probably well aware of the definition of a qualified lead, or to take it a step further - ‘a sweet lead’. 🤓 Let’s get straight to the sweet lead definition - "a qualified lead that connects with you, engages in a conversation, shows interest in your offer, consumes your content, and finally, books a call with you". ✔️
To elaborate a little further:
A qualified lead that connects with you 👋 - If a lead connects with you on LinkedIn, they are no longer a cold prospect. They have accepted your connection request and decided you might be interesting enough to talk to. However, this is far from over. You have to work your way up to winning their trust and eventually booking them on a call.
A lead that engages in a conversation with you 🗣️ - The talking part, yey! At this stage, you might get three different types of responses. Positive, negative and neutral ones. But don’t fret if the conversation seems stalled. You can try out some different approaches and see what works best.
A lead that shows interest in your offer 🤔 - After passing all the red flags, the ‘noes’, the ‘maybes’ and the transition from the grey (neutral) zone to the green (more-kind-of-positive) one, you are now finally engaged in a meaningful conversation with the prospect.
A lead that consumes your content 🤩 - The quality of the content you post online is a reflection of your company and who you are. So, take advantage of that blank space and use it wisely. If a prospect reads and relates to your content, you are more than halfway there. You just need one final effort.
Booking a call 🤝 - When you get a prospect to this stage, it’s crucial that you know that it ain’t over till it’s over. Booking a call doesn’t mean closing them, unfortunately. Pay attention to your prospect’s pain points and explain how you can help them. They may accept immediately, be indecisive or just say No right away. Whichever the outcome, know that you did your best. 😎

Lead generation is not a new concept. It’s the practice of generating prospects that are interested in what you have to offer. Whether they belong into the B2B or B2C category, the main goal is to slide them down your funnel (make them sweet enough).
What Is A Sales Lead? (And How To Qualify One)
Typically, a lead can be anyone in a designated market that demonstrates interest in a service or a physical product. Nevertheless, not all leads are relevant to you. 😒 The relevant ones are the leads that need your solution. Plain and simple. As soon as you draw a clear line on who you can help, your lead pool has already been defined. Lead generation channels might be different depending on the nature of your business and your client base, so naturally, you need to qualify them accordingly. To ease your prospecting and qualification process, you may want to try out some automation tools.
What is Lead Qualification: definition, checklist, and frameworks
Let’s say that you laid your hands on a couple of leads, so what’s next? 🤷 Well, next, you need to qualify them. Lead qualification is an inevitable step up the sales process. It’s of high importance that you take this step and see if the prospect fits your ideal client profile (ICP) ✔️or is irrelevant. Wasting your time on unqualified leads will cost you more. If a lead is qualified, the next logical step is to check whether it fully aligns with your target preferences. If it does, you can slide it down into the sales funnel. Moreover, if they agree to your proposal, budget requirements, estimated timeframe, and are ready to make a decision, the prospect can be successfully closed.
Cold, Warm, & Hot Leads: Classify & Close Any Sales Lead
There are multiple ways to acquire leads. Whether inbound or outbound, in the beginning, most of the leads are cold. 🧊 In simple words, they’ve shown little or no interest in your services, or they can’t decide if they need you yet. But that doesn’t mean they are irrelevant or you can’t “get” them. On the other hand, a lead that shows interest in your solution is a warm lead. 🔥 Warm leads might not be at the end of the customer journey yet, but they’re getting there. Warm leads should be handled entirely differently than cold ones. Sparking interest in your prospects is a half job done. Afterwards, it’s time to nurture and close them. 📞

She also ensures that the timeframe given for a project is acknowledged and the deadline is met. The time after work is scarce, so Natasha doesn’t make any special plans. Once she rests a bit, she puts on her favourite fitness trainer - Shaun T, for some serious kickass workout. Ever heard about Insanity? 💪

wandering the fields and admiring the view. 🏕️
Prospecting is a process that takes time and hard work,
gradually growing and expanding your network. 🌐
However, some people sadly caught the flu. 🤒
Completely unaware of its dangerous fall through.
They even continued as though nothing was wrong.
Working tirelessly from dusk until dawn.
But the fever they caught was highly contagious. 🌡️
So taking the personalised approach is considered courageous.
In order to get better and escape its evil claws,
they needed to put the whole outreach on pause. ⏸️
What they didn’t know but was unarguably true,
Is that this fever had a name, a one almost all knew.
That was not a pill that you can easily chew.
The solution came unexpected and out of the blue.
You need compassion, character and strong will.
Since there’s no vaccine and you could easily again fall ill. 💉

Have you noticed how people act differently online? Virtually, people aren’t afraid to be judgmental. In person, they are completely different individuals. Is it hypocrisy, or maybe fear? 🙊 Whatever it is, it’s not wise to let it become a habit. Unfortunately, this is even more prominent in the business world. Salesy behaviour seems to have overtaken every aspect of the outreach world. It’s a never-ending cycle that needs to be stopped. Building relationships is a stepping stone closer to victory. We should embrace it and not let digital outreach fever define our life. But what exactly is digital outreach fever? 🤔
“Digital outreach fever is the atypical spammy behaviour of B2B salespeople that occurs when they prospect leads online, use outreach automation tools, treat people like a number, and entirely disregard etiquette and building business relationships”. Confusing? No worries, when you reach the end of this article, you will know exactly what this definition stands for. 😉
Online lead prospecting - Prioritise your prospects based on their likelihood of becoming clients. Or qualify whether they are relevant for you.
Using outreach automation tools - These tools are excellent time-savers, and they only get better are more accurate. However, they lack the human touch, so use them wisely.
Treating people like a number - It’s not really flattering to be addressed as prospect number 7234 in a KPI sheet or put into a bulk email campaign for a random service, is it?
Disregarding etiquette - The importance for the profession to be regulated and for individuals to follow a code of conduct is much needed. Especially online.
Disregarding building business relationships - This can hurt your brand, therefore, you must nurture business relationships and trust us - the sales numbers will follow.
How to cure digital outreach fever? Well, there is not a pill for this fever. We can beat it by being humane, compassionate and understanding towards the people we communicate whether online or in person.
