Modern life is so hectic, and we can’t seem to have it all under control no matter how hard we try. 🤯 That’s why we turn to ‘quick fixes’ for our problems, we dwell on past decisions, and we are scared to look at a situation from a different angle. That does certainly not work in the long run, especially in the sales world. 

In this world, it’s crucial to put yourself in your prospects’ shoes and understand who they are, what they need, and most importantly - where did they come from. You may have figured how to deal with outbound leads, but inbound leads are different, and so are referrals. 

Inbound meeting - If a prospect noticed us via our website, social media accounts, or email marketing, and booked a meeting with us - that’s an inbound lead. These prospects know they have a problem, and that’s why they reach out. However, that doesn’t make them relevant. This is where diagnostics comes in. Before we get into anything, we need to first figure out if they can qualify as potential clients.

Outbound meeting - The outbound lead has most likely been found and nurtured by our sales team. Considering this is a lead our SDRs have reached out to, we presume they have the exact problem we can solve. There is much less effort in the diagnostics part because we know who we are talking to. 😊

Referral meeting - We all want to satisfy our clients’ needs. That’s a given. So nothing makes us happier than hearing that they referred us to their friends and peers. 🤩 When this good word spreads and a potential client contacts us, that’s what we call a referral lead. This lead thinks highly of us, so we need to do our best to meet their expectations.

We can’t just pick any lead and pray it will be the right fit for us. This is where lead qualification comes handy.

5 Steps To Generating Better Quality Leads

Getting your hands on a highly targeted, quality lead is not as easy as it may seem. The prospects must tick all the boxes, otherwise, you would just waste your precious time. ⌛ We need to generate the best leads so that we can have a fair chance of converting them. Follow these steps to ensure you will get only the most relevant prospects down the funnel. Prioritise data quality. The accuracy of the data is the starting point of every lead generation. Beware of incomplete data records, duplication, out of date data, etc. Both marketing and sales have to pull in the same direction. Remember that the records you are seeing on your computer are not just random names. They are people with unique objectives and challenges. 😊 Finally, embrace an integrated model of prospecting.

21 Sales Qualifying Questions to Identify Prospects Worth Pursuing

How do you determine if a prospect's a good fit for your product or service? This is the question we all need an elaborated answer on. Despite knowing your ICP, there are some mistakes we are all guilty of doing. For instance, building a list of people that don’t need our help. 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes, no matter how strongly you are convinced that the person is a great fit for you, it won’t work out if they don’t have the budget, or they are not in the right mindset at this time. This is why sales qualification is necessary before doing anything else. Learn to ask the right questions if you want to identify prospects worth pursuing. What problem are they solving with this offering? Have they tried to solve this problem in the past? If so, why didn't that solution work? What about their budget, how much are they willing to spend right now? And so on.

The 5 Characteristics of a Qualified Prospect

We notched the topic of qualification a bit, but let’s now clarify what exactly qualification means and why it is a prerequisite for a successful lead generation campaign. ✔️ Lead qualification is the process of determining if the lead fits your ICP, and whether they have a problem you can solve. To further qualify your list of prospects, you need to dig even deeper. The more niched you are, the harder it will be to find prospects that fit all your criteria. The qualified prospect will be aware of their problem. That’s a first. Second, they need to be able to do a purchasing decision (have the budget) and commit to a plan. The ideal prospect wants to move forward immediately. If they are not ready now, don’t pressure them, set them aside and continue to nurture this conversation for future collaboration. And finally, they need to have trust in your business and willingness to listen and cooperate. 🤝

BEE A DAY IN THEIR SHOES:
Metodija Jovanov - Data Analyst

As soon as summer reaches its peak, the bees spend all day round outside, flying over the countless flowerbeds and gardens. It’s not a rumour, we adore sunny days, and we usually wake up super early, so as not to miss the beautiful sunrise. 🌅 However, that doesn’t mean that all the bees are the same. 

For example, Metodija loves his beauty sleep. 😴 So, before he truly wakes up for the day, he hits the snooze button at least 3 times. Oh well. After a refreshing shower, Metodija heads off to his kitchen counter, where he prepares his morning espresso. ☕ Nothing beats a cup of caffeine on a busy day. Now, time to work. Once the computer is on, Metodija catches up with the other bees of his team and starts his tasks for the day. Breakfast is usually something quick and easy to digest. We previously mentioned that Metodija loves fine art, so after work, he goes to his study room to work on his paintings. 🎨 He says that art helps him concentrate and stay present in the moment. That’s a beautiful way to relieve mental strain, if you ask us. In the evenings, this artistic bee likes to relax with his friends and socialise. 🥳

Cold frappe, with lots and lots of ice. Or, coffee on rocks, to be precise. The summer is playful and by no means dull season, but oh this scorching heat. 🥵 Everyone needs some time to cool down. Once the invigorating dose of coffee reaches the bloodstream, Marija is ready to slay. She puts on her favourite music playlist, and the day can begin. Who can stay still with Cuban rumba music in the background? 🥁 Well, Marija can. Her laser-focused eyes promptly scan across each task without missing a thing. Since the days are very hot, in the afternoon Marija likes to sit at home and watch series or take a nap. 😴 Recently, she became obsessed with Stranger Things. And who wouldn’t, that series is so good! As an outgoing person, Marija loves people and socialising, so evenings are reserved for hanging out with friends.

Oh, the life of a bee. Always filled with chatter and joyous flapping pirouettes. ✨ Even in summer, bees are known for their active lifestyles. So is Marija. Her day starts around 7:30 in the morning, and she has the most efficient alarm in the world. Her cat Mimi wakes her up every morning almost at the same time. Oh, and demands food. 🐱 But, how cool is that? 

If you ask us, we would make cats a mandatory pet. Then, next on the list is coffee. Black and strong - a rocket fuel! 🚀 Marija’s working day starts with a brief meeting with her manager. This is when they decide the tasks for the day, brainstorm new ideas, and do some chit-chat. Then, a lunch break, and a short love exchange with Mimi. Marija is a great cook, and she always finds some interesting recipes to try on. 😋 So, after the clock ticks 4 PM, Marija puts her toque blanche, and heads to the kitchen. It must be a blessing to have a family member that loves cooking. Once the sun goes down,  Marija wakes up her inner adventurer and goes out. Whether that is cycling, running or just walking, it’s important that we move our bodies every day. 🚴‍♀️ On some nights, she gathers her friends for a drink or two, and others are reserved for a good book or series.
