Using a unique combination of data points from multiple sources, they unlocked millions of pounds of developments, including finding an extra £100 Million in one customer’s estate alone. This was when Simon realised that data was the key to having that critical edge in property development and that this data could be used to make any property strategy more effective, which lead to Nimbus Maps enabling anyone in the property market to benefit from it.

James Moat

James has over 12 years of experience at a senior management/director level with 10 years of experience in energy efficiency and energy generation projects (B2B) and large-scale utilities. He started his career working, first as a Contracts Manager and then as Commercial Director, within his family’s electrical contracting business, which specialised in mobile telecoms infrastructure, London Underground and temporary site services across the UK. James launched the renewable energy arm of the business in 2011 focused on the rooftop and ground-mounted solar and ESCO projects before exiting the business in 2016.
James then continued working within the energy and finance sectors as a consultant advising on a portfolio of 400MW of Gas Peaking and Grid Scale Battery Storage, Energy as A Service contracts and ESOS compliance, as well as corporate development to support M&A activity for several organisations. In late 2017, James joined Blu-3 where he met Jim Southworth prior to founding Box Energi in 2018. During the early stages of Box Energi, James spent 18 months working in the Middle East as Head of Business Development for Utico leading IWP and IPP bids with values greater than $100m.

Tom comes from a background of working in Live TV production, where he enjoyed a successful career covering live motorsport events. However, after several years in the industry, he changed professionals altogether and started to pursue a life investing in property. Tom lives in the Isle of Man and so he wanted to find a way to creatively invest in property in the UK by adding value and refinancing, but with no money to his name, this proved more difficult than he'd imagined.
